SAN DIEGO. — The UC San Diego men’s rowing team competed at the San Diego Crew Classic on Mission Bay Saturday and Sunday.

The Tritons had three boats on the water – Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity Eight, and 3rd Varsity Eight.

The Varsity 8 placed third in the final, about seven seconds behind the winner California. 

The 2nd Varsity 8 took second with a time of 6:42.699 in the final. The University of San Diego posted a winning time of 6:38.973.

The 3rd Varsity 8 final saw the Tritons log a second place finish in 6:56.817. Gozaga won the race with a time of 6:50.217.

Saturday, UC San Diego won two of its heat races, coming in first in the Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8.
