A 41-year-old man died in a solo car crash in the East Oakland hills over the weekend, police said.
The crash happened just after 11:15 p.m. Saturday on the 4100 block of Redwood Road in the Crestmont neighborhood, the Oakland Police Department said.
Officers found an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and removed him from the car to perform life-saving measures, police said. Medical personnel declared the man dead at the scene.

The man’s identity was not immediately released pending notifications to next of kin, police said.
It was not immediately known if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. The investigation was ongoing as of Monday morning.
