We do adore a milestone anniversary, and it can really be an anniversary of just about anything at all.

But when it is a movie? A celebratory air that is emotional, a tad poignant, a bit bittersweet, and definitely delightful adds to the atmosphere, as does the opportunity to anniversary-it-up among other film-loving fans.

Street Food Cinema gets our anniversary-focused obsessions, and to sweetly stoke that celebration-ready spirit? A number of films on the upcoming schedule will festively focus on films that have been around for a decade or four.

That “four” part leads us into the very first movie on the 2026 line-up: It’s “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” which will shake it up, baby, at Los Angeles State Historic Park May 16.

The film is marking its 40th anniversary in 2026, and to that we say ohhhh yeah. Four decades of Ferris-strong energy feels like something to party about.

More exclamatory enthusiasm is due: Featherborn, a band featuring Scott Underwood of Train, will play (it’s the group’s LA debut), while comedian Justin Rupple will host. Buddyz Smash Burger, Good Times Ice Cream, and other food trucks will swing by the feel-good gathering, too.

The good times arrrr-en’t over, however: Street Food Cinema is teaming up with D23 to honor the 20th anniversary of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” May 23 at The Autry Museum.

And rounding out the month on May 30? Sing “happy anniversary” to “Mamma Mia!” at Grand Hope Park in DTLA.

June is full of flair, too, with “Bend It Like Beckham,” “Muppet Treasure Island,” “The Birdcage,” “Back to the Future,” and “Bridesmaids” on the schedule.

Heather Hope-Allison, co-founder of Street Food Cinema, shared some of her thoughts on the cinematic event’s 15th season.

“We never imagined Street Food Cinema would become such an integral part of summer and the community in Los Angeles. We started this idea at a time when food trucks were becoming hugely popular, combining that with our love of movies and music just made sense.”

Ms. Hope-Allison revealed that sweethearts have gotten engaged at the events, and the special happenings, studio team-ups, and fan-focused evenings have added to the ever-building lore of the event.

“Through every evolution — from shifting film tastes and food trends to pivoting into drive-ins during COVID — we’ve been grateful to watch this community grow with us.”

“We’re especially thankful to our entertainment partners who trust us to help create these unforgettable experiences, year after year.”
