A man died Saturday in a vehicle collision in the Oakland hills, authorities said.

The single-car crash occurred around 11:18 p.m. on the 4100 block of Redwood Road, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Initial reports indicate that the man was the only occupant of a Porsche and crashed into a light pole, authorities said. There were no known witnesses to the collision.

The victim was later identified by the Alameda County coroner’s office as Bobby Lu, 41, of Oakland. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
