A Sacramento man is dead after crashing his car on Interstate 80 and being run over twice, according to the California Highway Patrol. Just before 3:00 Monday morning, CHP was alerted to a solo vehicle crash on I-80 west of Lagoon Valley Road. According to a preliminary investigation, CHP said the 28-year-old driver lost control of his blue Toyota Corolla and crashed into the divider wall. As officers responded, a 50-year-old Woodland man in a gray Honda Accord struck the Toyota, propelling the blue car’s driver onto the road. The Honda then crashed into a dirt embankment on the right shoulder. CHP said the driver admitted to being distracted. Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene, where they witnessed a white Mercedes run over the Toyota driver and then stop to wait for law enforcement, according to CHP. Then, a driver in a Kia also drove over the man in the roadway before pulling over. The occupants got out of the car to check for damages and fled the scene in the vehicle, CHP said. EMS attempted to provide aid to the 28-year-old, but he was ultimately pronounced deceased. CHP said no arrests were made as this is an ongoing investigation. A Sacramento man is dead after crashing his car on Interstate 80 and being run over twice, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Just before 3:00 Monday morning, CHP was alerted to a solo vehicle crash on I-80 west of Lagoon Valley Road.

According to a preliminary investigation, CHP said the 28-year-old driver lost control of his blue Toyota Corolla and crashed into the divider wall. As officers responded, a 50-year-old Woodland man in a gray Honda Accord struck the Toyota, propelling the blue car’s driver onto the road.
