BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who died days after a crash in Shafter as 88-year-old Maria Cervantes Vasquez.
The report said on March 22, 2026, at around 1 p.m., Vasquez was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a crash at the intersection of West Lerdo Highway and Magnolia Avenue in Shafter.
The report said Vasquez died at Kern Medical from her injuries on March 28.
