Two people were killed, including a 14-year-old boy, and several others injured after a reckless driver ran a red light and caused a violent crash in Anaheim while trying to evade police early Tuesday.
KTLA learned one of the victims was 70-year-old Orange resident Alberto Viveros. His family showed up to the scene at Anaheim Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue and identified him as one of the people killed.

According to police, the red car Viveros was driving in was going through the intersection when another car ran a red light, causing a multi-car collision that claimed Viveros’ life and the life of a teenage boy.
The boy has been identified as 14-year-old Anaheim resident Andrew Joseph Sanchez.
Police said the crash was caused by a silver Infiniti that ran a red light. They said they first encountered the vehicle moments earlier, just a few blocks away.

“This morning, about 12:45 a.m., one of our officers saw a silver Infiniti sedan driving at a high rate of speed, driving erratically in the area of Harbor Boulevard and Cyprus Street, which is about two blocks away,” said Anaheim PD Sgt. Matt Sutter. “When officers tried to catch up with the vehicle, that driver turned off the lights and accelerated away at a high speed.”
“Our officers never were able to catch up, never able to turn on the lights and sirens,” he continued. “So we were never actually engaged in a pursuit, but as our officers tried to catch up, they saw a collision here at this intersection of Anaheim Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue.”
“I came out of my truck and I saw the cop chasing this Infiniti,” said a witness. “And then after like a few seconds, I heard the loud crash.”

The 14-year-old boy who was killed was in the passenger seat of the Infiniti, according to authorities.
There were also multiple injuries, including to two teenage girls who were in the backseat of the Infiniti.
It’s unclear yet if the driver of the Infiniti will face charges because he was also seriously injured, and police say they are unsure if he’ll survive.
KTLA was told the driver was a 19-year-old man.

This crash comes a day after another deadly crash in San Clemente Monday, where the driver of a U-Haul van who was allegedly fleeing sheriff’s deputies crashed into a Mazda SUV, killing a woman and injuring others.
