Clovis could soon get a new coffee and beverage dealer as the city’s planning commission clears the way for 7 Brew Coffee to land at Clovis and Shaw avenues.

The Arkansas-based coffee chain that caught the attention of private equity investors proposed adding a drive-thru location between McDonald’s and El Pollo Loco, near the Costco.

Already fully developed, building the 900-square-foot cafe would require digging up the parking lot that shares parking spaces with three other fast-food locations, a gym, and several retailers.

“That’s a very busy parking lot,” said Clovis Planning Commissioner Amy Hatcher.

While adding the drive-thru and the cafe would eliminate parking stalls, planners say that restriping could increase total parking at the shopping center by six stalls. To keep cars from stacking onto Shaw Avenue, the cafe would not be near any driveways.

Blackstone Investment Supercharged 7 Brew Expansion

7 Brew focuses on drive-thru only coffee locations, with expansion fueled by private equity firm Blackstone. In no small part due to the firm’s undisclosed investment, expansion jolted to more than 600 locations by December 2025, according to the Business Wire.

Two locations in Visalia are currently being considered.

Planners anticipate about 500 customers a day going through the dual drive-thru format capable of queueing 13 drivers at any one time.
