TRI-VALLEY — ICE Out of Dublin, a community organization that opposes reopening a former federal women’s prison in Dublin to house illegal immigrants being held for deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to attend the Alameda County Board of Supervisors meeting in Oakland at on Tuesday, April 7, when supervisors are expected to vote on a resolution to keep the prison shut. The meeting begins at 1 p.m.
ICE Out of Dublin said the resolution, sponsored by Supervisors David Haubert and Elisa Marquez, would create a roadblock to reopening the facility. Federal Detention Center Dublin (FCI Dublin) has been closed for 20 years.
ICE Out of Dublin is also urging community members to watch the meeting online if they can’t attend in person, and to submit comments by email before 3 p.m., Monday, April 6.
