DUBLIN — A woman charged with vehicular manslaughter in a 2023 crash has accepted a plea deal and a six-year prison term, court records show.
Raynisha Williams, 34, pleaded no contest to drunk driving causing injury, and is set to be sentenced on April 3, court records show. Prosecutors dropped the manslaughter charge as part of the plea deal.
Williams was charged in connection with an Aug. 27, 2023 collision.
At around 2:30 a.m. Williams’ Chevy Trailblazer collided with a Ford utility van on Interstate 580, between Castro Valley and Dublin. The Ford’s driver, 22-year-old Mario Nunez was killed. Williams was hospitalized with serious injuries, according to court records.
Police took two blood/alcohol tests, one of which shows Williams’ level of intoxication was barely below the legal limit for driving, and the other that showed she was barely above it, police said in court filings.
Williams, a Redwood City resident, had been out of jail since being charged in 2024. After she changed her plea to no contest on March 5, she was remanded into custody, court records show.
