LONG BEACH, Calif. — For the fourth time this season and the second consecutive week, Logan King has been named Big West Freshman Volleyball Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-2 opposite averaged 4.14 points, 3.29 kills, 3.29 digs and 1.14 blocks per set in a 1-1 week for the Beach. In a sweep of UC Riverside, King posted 11 kills, eight digs and five blocks. At UC Davis, she recorded her sixth double-double of the year with 12 kills and a season-best 15 digs. She added three blocks and a service ace as the Aggies snapped LBSU’s nine-match winning streak with a 3-1 victory.

Seven weeks into the 2025 campaign, King has become just the eighth player since the Big West began presenting Freshman of the Week honors in 2014 to earn the award at least four times in a single season. Adlee Van Winden of Cal Poly set the Big West record with seven selections in 2015.

Long Beach State (12-5, 5-1 Big West) hosts UC San Diego (4-14, 2-4 Big West) on Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPN+, before welcoming Hawai’i (6-11, 2-4 Big West) to the Walter Pyramid for a Friday match up at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
