A Kern County judge ruled on March 19 that there was sufficient evidence to proceed in a trial in the murder case.

The case dates back to August 2025, when Kelley’s body was found tied inside her trailer on State Road in Oildale after it caught fire, according to court documents.

Court documents revealed that the rope around Kelley’s neck resembled “paracord or something similar made of nylon,” with one end featuring a metal clasp and the other tied in a knot.
