Work on Oakland Avenue West will be starting up again this week as part of the city’s projected three-phase project this year to reconstruct the one way.
According to a post on the City of Austin’s Facebook page, The first phase of this year’s work on Oakland will include the portion between First Street and Fourth Street, which will close starting Wednesday with closure of Oakland from First Street to mid-block between Second and Third Street.
Then on Monday, April 13, the remaining section through to Fourth Street will be closed. The intersections at First and Fourth Street will remain open to north/south traffic.
After construction was wrapped up last year from First Street East to First Street West and at the intersection of Oakland Avenue West and Fourth Street West, the city looks to wrap up the remaining stretch of Oakland this year down to 12th Street West,
