A stolen vehicle pursuit that led to a foot chase through a Novato park ended in an arrest over the weekend, while three suspects remain at large, police said.

On Sunday night, officers responded to a reported vehicle theft in progress on Arthur Street, where a white sedan fled the scene upon their arrival, striking a patrol vehicle as it left the area. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver sped away into oncoming traffic, the Novato Police Department said on social media on Monday.

The vehicle was later found unoccupied on Pioneer Court after colliding with a parked car. Discarded burglary tools near the scene led investigators toward Pioneer Park, indicating the suspects had fled on foot, according to police.

Novato police officers, assisted by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, established a perimeter and deployed a drone during the search.

Eric Ramirez, a 20-year-old Oakland man, was taken into custody. Three more suspects remain outstanding.

The recovered vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Oakland, according to police.

Ramirez was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of auto theft, reckless driving, evading police, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
