Police Tuesday are on the lookout for the suspect who fatally struck a man in his 30s during a confrontation blocks from the Convention Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday to Venice Boulevard and Convention Center Drive regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call. When they arrived at the scene, the officers learned the suspect struck the victim in the head with a large, hard object, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, where they pronounced the victim dead.
The suspect ran away from the scene and is still at large, police said.
