1. La Mirada (18-2): The Matadores maintained their Gateway League supremacy with an 8-1 victory at Downey last week. They followed that up by beating St. Paul and Downey in tournament play. The Hilliard sisters, Reese and Riley, began and finished the week with home runs. Riley Hilliard has eight home runs this season. La Mirada does not have any games this week.

2. Los Alamitos (12-8): The Griffins move up to No. 2 after going 4-1 last week. The team’s only loss was 3-0 against Orange Lutheran in the Carew Classic. Los Alamitos does not have any games this week.

3. Millikan (13-4): The Rams drop to No. 3 after going 4-3 last week. They beat Long Beach Poly 4-1 to remain in first place in the Moore League. They dropped nonleague games to Norco, Point Loma and Roosevelt. Millikan does not have any games this week.

4. St. Joseph (16-2): The Jesters move up to No. 4 after beating Bishop Montgomery 8-2 last week. Senior infielder Mariah Becerra has 25 RBIs and six home runs. St. Joseph does not have any games this week.

5. Downey (16-4): The Vikings drop to No. 5 after losing to No. 1 La Mirada twice last week. They were outscored by a combined margin of 18-3. Downey does not have any games this week.

6. Long Beach Poly (8-3): The Jackrabbits drop to No. 6 after consecutive losses to Millikan and Pacifica last week. Long Beach Poly does not have any games this week. Senior Emoni Lam Sam, who signed with Cal, is batting .625 with 18 RBIs.

7. Gahr (11-9): The Gladiators move up to No. 7 after a 7-1 victory against Gahr last week. They went 4-2 last week, including nonleague wins over Centennial of Las Vegas, El Modena and Capistrano Valley.  Sophomore Mylah Burrowes has 25 RBIs.

8. Valley Christian (6-4): Senior catcher Peyton Kingery is batting .516 with 10 RBIs. The Defenders were off last week. They will play nonleague games against Kennedy and California this week.

9. Warren (13-8): The Bears drop to No. 9 after a 7-1 loss at Gahr in a Gateway League game last week. Sophomore Julissa Gradilla’s home run was Warren’s only run. However, they bounced back and beat Mayfair to pick up their first league win.

10. Lakewood (9-10): Seniors Jamie Ramirez and Katelynn Lewis led the Lancers to a dominant 12-2 win against Wilson last week. They will be off until another Moore League showdown against Long Beach Poly on April 14.
