Cabrillo College’s softball team erupted for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past visiting San Jose City for an 8-2 win in Coast Conference action on Tuesday.

The Seahawks beat the Jaguars in all three of their meetings this season.

Ariyah Morgan had two hits, two RBI, and scored a run for the fourth-place Seahawks (26-8 overall, 6-4 conference). Grace Stryker had three hits, one RBI, and scored a run.

Kaylen Wingerd had a hit, two RBI, and scored a run for Cabrillo. Janessa De La Cruz had two hits and one RBI, and Cameron Llamas had two hits and scored a run. Bailey Fulton scored twice.

Angelina Castro had a hit and RBI for the fifth-place Jaguars (12-20-1, 5-5).

Danielle Keller gave up five hits, three walks and two runs earned her complete-game win. Priyah Quinonez gave up five runs, four earned, over five innings and took the loss.

Cabrillo hosts Monterey Peninsula (9-21, 4-6) on Thursday at 3 p.m.

At Cabrillo 12, Monterey Peninsula 2: Lucas Durand had four hits, four RBI, and scored a run for the Seahawks in their Coast Conference South Division win Tuesday.

It was the first of four meetings between the squads. They’ll square off again in Monterey on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.

Bryson Proctor had three hits and one RBI for the sixth-place Seahawks (16-17, 4-9). Triton Dew had two hits, one walk, and scored twice. Dylan Bartlett had a hit, two walks, one RBI, and scored three runs.

Cabrillo’s Ellis Lubiens had a hit, two walks, two RBI, and scored a run. Ferris Vitali had two hits, one RBI, and scored twice. Jayson Schmeisser hit a pair of triples and scored twice, and Trez Uemoto had a hit and two RBI.

Harbor alum Carlos Cruz had a hit, RBI, and run scored for the second-place Lobos (20-13, 7-6).

Winning pitcher Kieran Subramanian gave up one run over five innings. Ryuga Sakamoto gave up three runs over three innings and took the loss.

High school baseball

At Lompoc 10, St. Francis 0: The Sharks were shut out in their Central Coast Spring Break Tournament opener Tuesday.

Sophomore Jacob Fonseca finished with Sharks’ lone hit.

The Braves (8-8) broke the game open with their five-run sixth and four-run seventh.

St. Francis (4-8) plays at Arroyo Grande on Wednesday at noon.

Girls lacrosse

Live Oak 12, at Monte Vista Christian 7: The Mustangs lost their nonleague game Tuesday.

MVC (6-2) plays at Ann Sobrato in Morgan Hill on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Golf

NCGA South Zone Championship: Boulder Creek Golf & Country Club’s Darby Bronson, John Cook, Mark Harvey, and Jeffery Stone teamed up for first place at the the two-day NCGA South Zone Championship, which ended Tuesday.

They shot a 25-under 261 total, counting rounds of 135 at Del Monte G.C. and 126 at Poppy Hills G.C.

Boulder Creek and runner-up Santa Teresa (266) advance to the 59th NCGA Zone Championship at Bayonet and Black Horse golf courses on Aug. 24-25.

Hole-in-one: Cupertino’s Yung Chen aced the 175-yard eighth hole at Pasatiempo Golf Club with a 7-iron on Sunday. It’s his third career ace.
