The last time they heard from Kerwood was a text message she sent on Friday, April 3.

Family friend Ali Zaidi told KTVU on Sunday, April 5: “When she messaged, they said, ‘Hey, let’s get on the phone,’ and immediately she didn’t respond.”

Zaidi described Kerwood as “generally very responsive.”

She is currently scheduled to fly back to London on Wednesday, April 8.

Kerwood’s disappearance has been reported to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) and the U.K authorities, per the outlets.

KTVU also reports that the SFPD had entered Kerwood’s information into a statewide law enforcement database, so officers across California were alerted.

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and the SFPD did not immediately respond when PEOPLE reached out to them.
