BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man in relation to a grand theft at the Valley Plaza Mall in March.

The theft took place at around 9 p.m. Friday, March 20 at the Valley Plaza Mall at 2701 Ming Ave., according to investigators.

The victim had briefly left a personal bag containing their wallet, jewelry and cash of over $950 under a chair near the Zales store, police said.

Officials described the suspect as a man about 5 foot, 8 inches to 10 inches tall with a medium build and mustache. He was seen wearing a tan or white baseball style cap, brown shirt, blue jeans, dark-colored boots and a black backpack.
