Ventura County officials Wednesday warned people to be extra vigilant when they are outdoors as they are getting “a high volume” of rattlesnake reports.
In the month of April alone, there were six rattlesnake bites, according to the Ventura County Animal Services.
For hikes, they were urged to stay on designated trail.
When people are walking their pets or be outdoors, they should stay alert about rattlesnakes, officials said.
If there’s a rattlesnake in a known location within Ventura County, people were urged to call 805-388-4341.
