OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich.—A 4-point buck that was wedged between concrete barriers separating northbound and southbound I-75 in Auburn Hills was rescued thanks in part the Oakland County Sherriff’s Search and Rescue Team.
The incident took place shortly before 2 p.m. A motorist called Auburn Hills Police and reported that the deer was struck by a vehicle and got trapped between the barriers on I-75 near Lapeer Road.

The Oakland County Sherriff’s Search and Rescue Team used a technical rescue hooks and straps to slowly lift the deer.
“I’m proud of our team whose skill and determination made it possible to rescue this deer from certain death,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.
The deer appeared to have been bruised but was unharmed after the incident. He was taken to the Bald Mountain Recreation Area by Oakland County Animal Control and was released.
