SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego County property owners have until Friday to pay the second installment of their property taxes before penalties apply.

Payments are expected to generate more than $9 billion for the region, according to the San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office.

San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Larry Cohen urged residents to pay online at sdttc.com, which nearly 80% of taxpayers already use, calling it the “easiest, quickest, and most secure way to pay.” Taxpayers who send checks are encouraged to use the color-coded envelopes provided with their bills, which speeds processing from 10 weeks to 48 hours.

“Our office boasts a 99% collection rate year over year, thanks to responsible San Diego homeowners who pay on time,” Cohen said. “This money funds essential services and programs so that our communities can thrive, and includes funding for school and education, public safety, health services, infrastructure, animal services, and much more.”

The first installment was due Nov. 1, 2025, and became delinquent after Dec. 10. The second installment was due Feb. 1 and will become delinquent after April 10.

Property owners can pay online, by mail, by phone, by drop box, or in person at branch locations in San Diego, Santee, Chula Vista and San Marcos.

Property owners can find their tax bill information online or call the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office at 877-829-4732.
