The California Rodeo Salinas brought in nearly $22 million to the local economy last year, according to a new report from Beacon Economics. The report revealed that the rodeo’s economic impact included spending by visitors, labor income, and job creation. Approximately 90,000 people attended the event, spending an average of $160 per person. Beyond its financial contributions, the rodeo distributed approximately $850,000 to more than 40 nonprofits, schools, and service groups. It also supported scholarships and youth programs, further benefiting the community.
