New breakfast menu: Hasta Mañana Cantina has introduced a new weekend brunch. The Mexican-influenced eatery in the Gaslamp Quarter is now offering a breakfast burrito, a six-ounce steak-and-eggs entrée, breakfast tacos, French toast and chilaquiles with the option to add carne asada, carnitas or pollo asado. Spring tea event: For the next four Fridays, La Valencia Hotel is bringing back its spring tea event. Visitors can try different French teas, sandwiches, quiches, scones and other various pastries. Fermentation class: Chef Travis of The Plot Restaurant is teaching his fermentation techniques in a special one-evening, hands-on workshop. He will show attendees how to convert harvested ingredients from the restaurant into gut-healthy foods and beverages. He will also discuss the health and environmental benefits, as well as the history of fermentation. Happy hour: A dog-friendly happy hour, complete with a canine menu, is on the calendar at the Town and Country Resort’s Monkeybar. The Wild Sniffari Yappy Hour event will provide food and drinks designed for pups, such as dog beer, dog biscuits, ice cream and a beef burger patty with egg and rice. There will also be happy hour deals for humans, including $7 draft beers and $13 wood fired pizzas. Spring cocktails: Downtown San Diego’s upscale karaoke bar Gaslamplighter has just launched a new spring cocktail menu. The drinks are an homage to Hollywood from the 1940s and 1950s. The Peaches & Cream is a yogurt-fat-washed bourbon cocktail with French peaches. The On the Silver Screen mixes honeydew, aloe, gin, milk and mint foam.
