Homicide suspect with Sacramento ties mistakenly released from Bay Area jail

A man wanted for a homicide was inadvertently released from a Bay Area jail last week. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office said it was investigating the release of 20-year-old Isaiah Jamon Andrews, of Kent, Washington.Andrews was being held at the Martinez Detention Facility on local charges, in addition to an out-of-state warrant for homicide, and a juvenile warrant out of Sacramento. He was released from the facility on Oct. 22.The sheriff’s office said that once staff realized Andrews was released, a search of the immediate area was launched, and he was not found.The U.S. Marshals Service is searching for Andrews.
