TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — One of the country’s largest homebuilders is making a move to Arizona.
KB Home announced it will relocate its corporate headquarters from Los Angeles to Tempe, with the transition set to begin in spring 2027.
The new headquarters will be at Hayden Ferry Lakeside near Tempe Town Lake, putting the company close to Sky Harbor and right in the middle of the Valley.

Company leaders say the move is about more than just geography — it’s also about saving money and working more efficiently.
“This move brings our teams together in a more collaborative environment, and Phoenix is the right place to do it,” said CEO Robert McGibney.
And there’s another factor that’s hard to ignore: housing.

The Phoenix area remains significantly more affordable than Los Angeles, where home prices are often hundreds of thousands of dollars higher. That price gap has been a major reason people — and companies — continue to leave California for Arizona.
KB Home says Arizona’s business-friendly environment also played a role in the decision.
Even with the move, the company says it isn’t leaving California behind. KB Home will continue operating across the state, where it still has more than 100 active communities.
