LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A man in his 30s died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday night in the San Fernando Valley’s Winnetka neighborhood, authorities said.
The collision occurred about 10 p.m. on Winnetka Avenue, between Sherman Way and Gault Street, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The vehicle was heading southbound on Winnetka when it hit the pedestrian, who was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk, an LAPD spokesperson told ABC7. Descriptions of the vehicle and suspect were not available.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died. His name was not immediately released.
Investigators were working to confirm a witness’s report that the man was struck by a second vehicle.
