Congress rep leads US Capitol tour

U.S. Rep. Laura Friedman was among the members of Congress leading tours of the Capitol now that the government shutdown has paused the regular guides.  She led more than 80 eighth-grade students from her district who had come into town expecting a staff-led tour. “These kids who have waited all year to come on this trip and been very excited about coming to Washington, D.C., already were disappointed that they couldn’t go to the Smithsonian museums,” she said. Roll Call

Assessing the needs for senior centers

Councilmember Ysabel Jurado is asking for a report assessing needs for senior centers in her Council District 14. The report is to include a list of improvements needed at each center, as well as cost estimates. Motion
