BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Four people were arrested for DUI during the Bakersfield police’s DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint and DUI saturation over the weekend.
The Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint in conjunction with a DUI saturation patrol on Friday, April 10th, 2026, in the 8600 block of Ming Avenue between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Officers screened 1,008 vehicles.
Four drivers were detained for further evaluation to determine their sobriety influence level. Two drivers were subsequently arrested for DUI.
Police said during the checkpoint, 13 drivers were cited for driving while unlicensed. Six vehicles were impounded.
According to police, during the saturation, officers conducted 48 traffic stops. 24 drivers were evaluated for DUI, and two were arrested for DUI.
In the saturation, 31 citations were issued while six vehicles were impounded for license violations. One vehicle was stopped for reckless driving; the driver was cited and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
