Roman Reigns and CM Punk kick off WrestleMania 42 week on tonight’s “WWE Raw”!

The “WWE Raw” go-home show for WrestleMania 42 arrives this Monday, April 13, as WWE heads to the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. While no matches have been officially announced, the show features a lineup of all the usual suspects on tap for such a big card.

Leading the charge is Roman Reigns, who hasn’t been seen since CM Punk smashed him through the announce table. Meanwhile, Punk is has been occupied with taking shots at Reigns and Pat McAfee. How Reigns integrates the McAfee angle(s) into any of his potential promo work will be interesting to see.
The night also features Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi, who are set to deliver one final altercation of sorts before their big (literally) WrestleMania match. Among all the matches set for this weekend, this one arguably has garnered the most positive attention and reaction.
Becky Lynch and Jey Uso are set to appear, adding final layers to their upcoming matches. Seth Rollins and Gunther are both scheduled for the show, too. With just days left before the annual spectacle, WWE could really use a positive punctuation for tonight’s Netflix showcase.

Femi signs, and Heyman returns on the ramp, as fans shower the “Oba” chants. Heyman starts to praise Femi as the best thing since Lesnar, making all the comparisons. He tells the audience they’re starting to piss him off with the chants. The problem is “it all ends Saturday,” says Heyman. He touts it again as the “real” main event.

Sky finds the missile drop kick and kip-up for her emote, which is still as over as ever. Sane eats the Bullet Train Attack, as Sky wants the Over-The-Moonsault. Sane pushes her off the top. They battle atop the corner, with Sky in a Superplex spot, only to get headbutted off. She takes a scary tumble, dangling over the ropes. The ref checks Sane in the ring, and Asuka slams Sky into the post — and Rhea Ripley arrives immediately. Then Jade Cargill randomly attacks to save Asuka from a Riptide. Sky runs to hit a suicide dive on Cargill. Sane grabs Sky from inside the ring, but gets kicked to position for an Over-The-Moonault, but the same spot is repeated. The ref checks Sane, and Asuka knocks Sky off, which leads to a Sane roll-up for the win.
Once again, Sky is nerfed as hell.

Sane fully takes over as soon as the match starts, tackling Sky and pummeling away. She works her way to the top rope for a big diving forearm. Sky gets whipped over Sane’s shoulder for a rest hold. Sky battles her way up, doing her best to find some offense. Sky avoids a springboard attack, eventually finding a drop kick that launches Sane to the outside. Sky goes to the ropes for a springboard Moonsault. Sane grabs the leg, pulling Sky face-first into the apron. Sky jumps onto the barricade to hit the Moonsault from there instead.

Iyo Sky seeks a rebound win against her rivals, The Kabuki Warriors. Well, just Kairi Sane, but this can’t possibly end here. Sane is the glue between Sky and Sane.

“I am solving Heyman’s problem,” Gunther says. He’s pissed off by Rollins pretending to be the best, but Gunther says he is. Rollins never wanted to find out, Gunther says. Because he never challenged Gunther while he was champion. It’s personal because Rollins needs to be proven that he can’t lace Gunther’s boots, leading to a headbutt and continued brawl. Gunther nearly gets stomped on the steel steps, but avoids by jumping the barricade.
So there we have it. It’s an explanation. Not the greatest one, but literally the most logical WWE could have come up with.

No surprise here. Another substanceless brawl, as Rollins immediately jumps Gunther, who tails it out of the ring. So, no explanation whatsoever for Gunther even going after Rollins — at least until Rollins invites him back in the ring to explain.

WWE is doing its best to keep this feud from seeming unimportant. It’s too late, though. As well put together as the video package was, this just can’t stick a landing with all the ludicrous celeb involvement.

Jey has been the primary player for his side throughout the match, working with Sikoa. They each end up needing a tag, which brings in Knight for the hot tag to take out both Leoa and Mateo. He gets Leoa in the ring, propped for a diving elbow drop. Mateo breaks it up and gets Super Kicked by Jimmy. Sikoa takes him out with a Samoan Spike, then Jey goes after his brother, who dives on him outside. Tama Tonga then emerges outside to distract Sikoa — allowing a Knight BFT in the ring on Leoa for the win.
That match was building nicely, and just ended randomly. Sikoa and Talla Tonga are just staring at Tama now.

Morgan delivers a receipt, essentially repeating last week’s spot by attacking Vaquer from behind to launch her into Cathy Kelley in the ring. Morgan grabs the mic and calls Vaquer’s mom trash, and says she raised a “little b****.”
Where’s the creativity? Why is this feud even “personal”? Questions we have as they briefly brawl. Morgan has black eyes and is screaming at Vaquer. All right.
