(FOX40.COM) — A 47-year-old motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a vehicle in Northern California on Monday morning.

Around 3:30 a.m., the Livermore Police Department responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Paseo Laguna Seco and Portola Avenue.

According to police, a 61-year-old Livermore resident was driving southbound on Paseo Laguna Seco and made a left turn onto Portola Avenue. At the same time, a 47-year-old Livermore motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Portola Avenue, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection.
LPD said paramedics arrived within minutes, but tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
