Santa Barbara residents hoping to get out of town will have even more options in the next few months.
The Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) announced that Alaska Airlines will be offering two non-stop daily flights to San Diego beginning April 22, 2026.
Alaska Airlines previously offered flights to San Diego in 2020 but ended the route.
Tickets to San Diego with Alaska Airlines can start at $157 and go as high as $297 for first-class seats, according to the airline’s website.
The San Diego flights will bring the number of nonstop destinations to 14 for SBA, with a total of 26 daily flights.
The airline also announced that Alaska Airlines will be adding another trip to Portland, raising the number of trips to two a day.
The announcement comes right after the airport announced that United Airlines would be offering daily non-stop flights to Chicago beginning on April 6, 2026. United previously offered the route as seasonal service during the summers of 2021 and 2022.
The cost of a nonstop round-trip flight between Santa Barbara Airport and Chicago in April can vary between $537 and $1,649, according to United’s website. Seats in the business and first-class sections can vary from $1,154 to $3,009.
