An alarm disarmed

Highland Park/Eagle Rock—For nearly two years, neighbors near the former Sparkletts bottling plant in Highland Park endured a loud AI-powered alarm that blared warnings at night and disrupted sleep. After residents organized, drew media attention and pressed Sparkletts owner Primo Brands, one alarm was shut off. But the noise continued, revealing a second alarm at nearby dispensary. Residents confronted the business, and that alarm was turned off the next day. Now, silence. Change.org
