Oceanside-based Suja Life, maker of cold-pressed single-serve juices, wellness shots and functional soda, has filed for an initial public offering.

It will be listed on Nasdaq under the symbol “SUJA.”

The company, founded in 2012 and now backed by private equity firm Payne Schwartz Partners, filed a Form S-1, an IPO registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, on Friday. The expected proceeds and initial share price were not disclosed.

Suja Life has three brands: juice maker Suja Organic; Vive Organic, which makes “doctor-crafted” immunity and energy shots; and Slice, a “better-for-you” soda made with juice and prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics. Slice was first launched in 1984 and revived by Suja last year.

Sales figures included in the filing show how each brand performed in 2025. Suja Organic was the biggest seller, with a combined $219 million in sales across four categories: green juices, boosted juices, refreshers and shots. Suja Organic is “a leading brand in the refrigerated juices category, with the #1 position in cold-pressed juice retail sales” according to a market research report by SPINS.

Vive Organics came in second, at $63 million in sales, and Slice had $10 million.

The company cited recent strong sales, increasing demand for healthy beverages and its retail partnerships among its reasons to expect continued success.

“Our recent historical performance demonstrates our ability to deliver consistent growth through a balanced and disciplined approach. For fiscal 2025, net sales were $326.6 million, an increase of $67.7 million, or 26.1%, from $258.9 million in fiscal 2024,” the filing says.

It added: “Going forward, we believe our portfolio of brands, innovation leadership, operational excellence, and strong retail partnerships position us to continue to capture disproportionate growth as functional beverages transition from early adoption to mainstream consumption.”

The company, however, experienced net losses of $23.3 million for fiscal 2025 and $20.8 million for fiscal 2024.

Regarding the growing popularity of healthy, natural beverages, it wrote, “wellness becomes a universal priority.” It cited a company survey that found that “77% of consumers are willing to pay more for ‘beverages that are better for them.’”

Suja’s juices, sold in San Diego area stores including Costco, Ralphs, Target, Vons, Walmart and Whole Foods, tout functional benefits, including gut health, immunity and hydration. Along with solo juices and shots, it sells packages for cleanses.

An 18-pack of the Ginger Love juice costs $109.99. A subscription discount lowers the price by 15%. A seven-day cleanse package (which combines its juices with suggested meals and ingredients) costs $119.99.

Payne Schwartz Partners acquired Suja Life in 2021 and appointed Maria Stipp, who previously led Lagunitas Brewing Co. and Sapporo-Stone Brewing, as CEO in 2024.
