Officer-involved shooting in San Diego’s East Village injures 1 person

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A person was injured after a shooting involving a police officer near the East Village Wednesday evening.

The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) said that officers were investigating a shooting involving an officer that happened near 16th Street and Island Avenue around 5 p.m.

SDPD confirmed that one person was shot and that all officers involved in the incident were okay. Officials did not immediately have information on the suspect’s condition.

Police said that there are no current threats to the public and that traffic in the area will be affected for several hours.
