Hand grenade found at Burbank Recycling Center – NBC Los Angeles

The discovery of a hand grenade led to the evacuation Tuesday morning of the Burbank Recycling Center.

Police responded at about 7:30 a.m. to the property in the 500 block of South Flower Street. An employee found the hand grenade on the recycling sorting belt, police said.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department explosives team was heading to the center.
