The Short Story: UC Davis women’s tennis wrapped up the 2025-26 regular season at home in a 1-4 loss to Sacramento State on Thursday, Apr. 16.

The Aggies battled to three games in four of six singles courts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Starting the day in the doubles court, the duo of Polina Marakhtanova and Mika Ikemori nearly won in court one, but wouldn’t finish due to the Hornets already clinching the point.
Marakhtanova would get a win on the day with a three game victory in singles court one.
In the second court, Ikemori would force a third game with a 6-3 victory, but ultimately fell 6-7 in a match that needed extras.
Vivian Gallaway and Penelope Wong would come close in courts three and five, but both matches would be abandoned in the third.
Marakhtanova would ultimately be the only win of the day for the Aggies, as Sac State would claim a 4-1 victory.
