Kyle Kirkwood heads into the IndyCar Racing Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach with a slight lead over Alex Palou and the field.
The fifth race in the 2026 IndyCar Racing Series heads to the Streets of Long Beach for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Kyle Kirwood has a slight lead over the rest of the field with 156 points. He is the only driver through four races with top-five finishes in each. Kirkwood is coming off a fifth-place finish that allowed Alex Palou to close the gap with his second win of the season. Palau has two wins and a second-place finish, giving him 154 points heading into this race. If not for his third-worst finish since his rookie season (24th), Palau would be running away with the points lead again.
