Four broadcast audio brands serving California’s state capital region owned by Bonneville International have a new leader, and it is the individual who has spent the last five years serving as Director of Sales for the licensee’s Seattle radio stations.
Earning the promotion is Jim Richmond, who will serve as SVP/Market Manager for KYMX “MIX 96,” KNCI, KZZO “NOW 100.5” and KHTK “Sactown Sports 1140” in Sacramento.
Richmond “brings deep leadership and industry experience with him.” From March 2003 through December 2006, Richmond served as a Regional VP for New Northwest Broadcasters. He then joined CBS Radio, taking a role of General Sales Manager for its stations in Seattle and Denver, respectively. In August 2011, Richmond exited CBS Radio, joining iHeartMedia as General Sales Manager for its Seattle properties. After four months, he was promoted to Director of Sales, a role he held until July 2013.
Richmond would resurface in August 2014 as GSM for the stations owned by Audacy (formerly Entercom), exiting in March 2020. He joined Bonneville’s crosstown Seattle properties in September 2020.
Richmond reports to Bonneville President/COO Tanya Vea, who said, “I’m thrilled for Jim to take on this leadership role in Sacramento. This market has a great lineup of stations, a strong digital sales business, and wonderful employees. Jim has shown himself to be an excellent leader, and his background is the perfect fit. I’m confident that he will build on the strengths of the market, developing the business and the culture at Bonneville Sacramento.”
Richmond commented, “I’m honored to join the Sacramento team. These stations have a meaningful connection to the community, and I look forward to supporting our people, growing our digital presence, and serving listeners wherever they are across every platform with purpose and innovation.”
