OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WFIE) – A woman from Oakland City is now in custody, after authorities say, she’s accused of arson.
According to booking records from the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Julie Benton of Oakland City was arrested on a charge of arson Saturday morning.

Benton is currently being held without bond, per the jail’s intake report.
Fire crews were out in the early morning hours Saturday at a home in the 500 block of East Columbia Street in Oakland City.
Crews from Barton Township Fire and Francisco Fire assisted East Gibson in putting that fire out.
The home suffered heavy damage and those living nearby say they could hear some explosions coming from the house, as well as seeing some downed power lines.
No word yet on any injuries from this house fire.
