FRESNO, Calif (FOX26) — A driver, who the California Highway Patrol says was over twice the legal alcohol limit, is fortunate to be alive after crashing into a power pole in Fresno.

The crash caused power lines to fall across his car and the road.

Despite the severity of the incident, the driver sustained only minor injuries.

Authorities emphasized the importance of staying inside the vehicle until first responders and PG&E safely shut off the power, as live wires can be deadly.

The driver will face court proceedings for another DUI arrest once he recovers.
