The California Apartment Association has expanded its citywide outreach urging rental housing providers to contact the Los Angeles City Council about proposed changes to the city’s rent control law, including lower rent increase caps and formula revisions.
CAA mailed more than 70,000 postcards (images below) to owners across the city, encouraging them to speak up with their council offices about the proposals and their impacts on the rental housing supply.
The association continues to challenge the city’s study that recommends altering the rent formulas, pointing to expert analysis — including a Beacon Economics peer review — and warning that the suggested changes would discourage investment and worsen the housing shortage.
