About 1,500 utility customers lost power in San Francisco’s Nob Hill area Sunday, according to Pacific Gas & Electric.
The outage was reported around 5:30 p.m. Crews were working to restore power as of 7:15 p.m. Power was expected to be restored around 10:45 p.m. for most customers, according to PG&E’s outage map.
The cause of the outage was under investigation, PG&E said.
The disruption follows other recent PG&E blackouts, including a widespread outage that forced the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to shut down its rides Friday. The utility attributed it to equipment issues at a substation.
In December, a fire at a PG&E substation caused a blackout that left about a third of San Francisco without power. Citing concerns about repeated outages, Mayor Daniel Lurie and other city leaders said last month that they planned to ask state regulators to open an investigation.
