TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A Friday house fire in the Oakland neighborhood of northeast Topeka remains under investigation, officials said Monday morning.
The blaze was reported around 1:15 p.m. Friday, April 17, at a two-story residence at 541 N.E. Grattan St.
Upon arrival, Topeka Fire Department crews reported smoke coming from a second-floor bedroom.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and were able to contain it to the area of origin.
There were no occupants at home at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries.
The Topeka Fire Department Investigation Unit responded to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
As of Monday morning, the cause of the fire was under investigation.
