CUMUTO, Trinidad and Tobago (WKRC) – Human remains belonging to 56 people, six adults and 50 babies, were reportedly found illegally discarded in a cemetery.
According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, authorities were called to the Cumuto Cemetery after a large cache of human remains were discovered.
Police said the human remains belonged to 50 infants, four adult men, and two adult women. One adult man and one adult woman showed signs of having gone through a post-mortem examination.
“All adult remains, with the exception of one male, were found with identification tags,” the release read. “Preliminary indications suggest that this may be a case involving the unlawful disposal of unclaimed corpses.”
