BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — CHP is highlighting the dangers of distracted driving after a driver of a semi-truck had a near-miss crash with a CHP Bakersfield motor officer working speed enforcement.

“Thankfully our officers remain vigilant at all times for dangerous driving,” said the California Highway Patrol Bakersfield in a social media post.

CHP said reading a text, adjusting your playlist, taking your eyes off the road, can all have serious consequences.
