OAKLAND — A 39-year-old pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run collision April 16 in East Oakland has been identified by the coroner’s bureau, authorities said Monday.
He was identified as Ambrose Hicks, of Oakland.
The vehicle that struck him has been recovered by police but no arrests have been made.
The fatal collision happened about 5:55 p.m. April 16 at the intersection of East 12th Street and 22nd Avenue. According to police, Hicks was in a crosswalk when he was struck by an Infiniti going eastbound on East 12th Street. The vehicle kept going without stopping, police said.
Hicks was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.
It is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
