(FOX40.COM) — A Sacramento man was sentenced Monday to 25 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting a minor.

The Department of Justice said in a press release that Joshua David Price, 36, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge William B. Shubb.

According to court documents, Price began communicating online in 2011 with a 15-year-old girl. After traveling to Maryland to meet her, he flew her to Sacramento and later drove her to Klamath Falls.

During that trip, prosecutors said, Price recorded videos of himself and the minor engaging in sex acts.

The case was investigated by the Klamath Falls Police Department in Oregon, Homeland Security Investigations and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Roger Yang prosecuted the case.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse, authorities said.
