(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento area is expected to see persistent rain, mountain snow and thunderstorm chances, Tuesday into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The severe weather has resulted in various crashes, road closures and flooding throughout Northern California.

Westbound Highway 50 between Prairie City Road and Folsom Boulevard has been impacted, with the #3 lane blocked due to a traffic crash, the California Highway Patrol said. The other two lanes just west of the crash have localized flooding.

CHP also said that officers are at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on westbound Highway 50, east of East Bidwell Street. Drivers are asked to proceed with caution as there is debris in all lanes.

The HOV and #1 lane of eastbound Interstate 80 at Watt Avenue are closed, along with Watt Avenue to eastbound I-80. The #1 lane of westbound I-80 has been impacted by standing water, resulting in slow-moving traffic, CHP said.

Drivers are asked to travel with caution.
