A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Marcos on Tuesday afternoon, sheriff’s officials said.
The incident happened shortly after noon on San Marcos Boulevard west of Rancho Santa Fe Road, said sheriff’s Lt. David Perkins.
No further information about the victim or the incident was immediately available.
An alert from the sheriff’s X account told travelers to “avoid the area and use an alternative route.”
San Marcos Boulevard will be closed in the area for the next few hours, Perkins said.
